A great place to eat. Best service and so friendly staff members. Keep it up.
We had a family dinner after graduation. Their service was excellent!
I enjoyed everything I ate. I especially love the lentils and guava juice! I also love the atmosphere and decor.
I am an Indian Vegetarian with slight tough pallet for food. However I was surprised to find out how Ethopian food is similar to Indian food. Since this was my first experience with Ethopian food, I can't comment how well this would hold to other Ethopian restaurant. But I loved it and I will go again.
Love the place. It's an experience to have with good food at a reasonable price.
Very good food and nice ambience.
Red Sea Addis is an awesome Ethiopian experience. Great food and dining experience. There are a few Ethiopian places around town this is the most expensive but easily the best. Every dish here is amazing even the vegetarian options. Be prepared to eat with your hands.
This place is awesome. The food is so unique and authentic. A little intimidating at first but well worth it for sure. Don't be scared to eat with your hands and try something new! Pretty sure this place is run by a family. Very nice family who are willing to answer questions and make recommendations. They also make their own honey wine which is sweet but nice to sip on. Very nice date spot especially for trying something new and fun.
Authentic Ethiopian food. everything we ate was SOO DELICIOUS. It was well seasoned and tasted like it had been slow cooked
I've been coming here for over ten years. It's recently changed owners. New owners have expanded the menu to include more traditional dishes, which taste great. I only wish they continued to offer the Ethiopian beers like the previous owner.
A lovely authentic, Ethiopian restaurant in South End. I split the Doro Wat Combo with my bf for lunch and we were very satisfied at the end! The injera is unlike others I’ve had in the past - had less of a “sour†taste and seemed somewhat lighter in density. Regardless I loved it. The Ethiopian coffee (espresso style) is also delicious. The traditional way to drink it is to add a generous spoonful of sugar!
Food is wonderfull. Flavorfull but not spicy. Very different from any other food. We go a few times a year. Get the Addis Red sea combo plate for a taste of everything.
Fantastic food, authentic atmosphere, wonderful service. We’ll be back.
Love myself some Indera. Check out Lucy's as well. Lucys has a tighter atmosphere and just edged out the experience a bit more
Came here the week before Father’s Day and surely, the decoration was beautiful and the seating was very authentic. The entire restaurant was covered with mesobs (“tableâ€), little wooden chairs and cushions. There wasn’t a lot of people so we didn’t expect a wait but it was just slow. Slow to get seated, order and for the food to arrive. It took over a hour for the food to come and that was consistent across the tables. Otherwise the food was pretty good. Ordered the Addis Red Sea special and ordered 2 other lamb dishes—slow cooked meats. Some were more flavorful than others but we had to say the beef and lamb dishes were more aromatic than the chicken. Plenty of enjera (bread) to go around. Food is pretty good except the service is just so slow to the point that you want to leave.
Very authentic place. I've never eaten Ethiopian food but I would certainly try it again. Pleasant environment and plenty of vegetarian options.
Living in Northern Massachussetts, this restaurant is somewhat out of my way but still worth the trip. Tucked away on Tremont Street, it's hard to spot unless you know it's there. This is the first place I bring friends from out of town to enjoy a good meal in an alluring atmosphere
This place was pretty good. It'll fulfill your Ethiopian craving but I've had better. It was very authentic and the art was beautiful. The food didn't have as much of a depth of flavor that I expected. The service took a very long time but the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Addis is my favorite hidden gem boston restaurant. it’s one of those restaurants that has an authentic vibe, delicious food reminiscent of home cooking, and affordable prices. I regularly bring my friends and guests here and it is always a hit.
Delicious Ethiopian food! There's a nice selection of beef, chicken, lamb, fish, and vegetarian dishes. all very moderately priced.I'll definitely be back.
This place has amaaaaaazing food. The service was a little slow, but I didn't even mind. Came here on anniversary dinner, 100 percent worth it.
Good food, good vibes
Come prepared to eat with your fingers in a traditional Ethiopian table. We prefer the vegetarian options to the fish and meat dishes which were never a big hot at our table. We have gone there multiple times and taken friends visiting from out of town. Friendly service and good food!
First time indulging in Ethiopian food and it was worth it. This place has a beautiful ambience with carpet floor and light Ethiopian music in the background. It has a huge menu of veggies, chicken, beef, lamb and fish to choose from. They've got a good selection of wines too! A must visit I would say!
The food was delicious and the prices were great. Tusker, a Keynan Lager, was crisp and refreshing. This place has been around for years and it is still a wonderful experience. It is family owned and operated. Highly recommended.
This was the first time I've ever had Ethiopian food and it was delicious! We had a really great time and the people working there were great and friendly. I had the #14 on the menu and the honey wine! Definitely would reccomend!
First time eating Ethiopian food in a restaurant and really enjoyed it. The service and decor were great. I would definitely recommend coming here.
Great food, great service. Very good vegetarian options.
First time eating Ethiopian food. The experience and the food were amazing. The staff gave us great recommendations and I didn't try anything I didn't like. We ordered a Red Sea combo, beef tips, and lentils. We had enough food for 4 people and had so much fun eating!
Unsure if this place is temporarily or permanently closed, but it was not open when we tried to eat here.
Excellent service, excellent food, great place for Vegetarians
Hubby and I went there for lunch and it was great! The food was tasty and the service was AMAZING. My husband is gluten intolerant, and they offer GF injera if you call ahead and ask for it. We didn’t do that but the owner was so kind to make us a batch. Very thoughtful. Highly recommended
Great food. Very warm, friendly people. Fun decor. Would come back again. Also went above and beyond and made me gluten free bread :)
Surprised to get a vegetarian food, injera and sides were delicious.
A great atmosphere and cool place to come for a meal. The food was great and the honey wine is definitely worth a try
What delicious food to eat with friends with your fingers on Ethiopian (very thin) bread. There are meat and vegetable options (some on the spicy side). The owners are very kind and ready to recommend the right order for you and your group. Eating here is a nice way to hang out with friends and colleagues.
Very good food (though I like their food better than their injera, if I rated them separately), though one of the most expensive places for Ethiopian/Eritrean in the Boston area (the other is Asmara). Your food will take a long time to arrive, so be prepared, but it's definitely worth it.
This place has set the standard by which I judge Ethiopian/Eritrean cooking in DC, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago. You share a platter of dishes which accompany a meal pro forma, plus those which you choose. You use your hands to grasp the injera bread (ask for the darker version...more flavor and I think more typical) in smaller pieces to pinch and pick up the food. If you get the Gored Gored (here cooked versus the raw in other places) make sure you also eat up the injera on which the dish was spooned out, soaked in the sauce. Many, many vegetarian and vegan alternatives on the menu.
Absolutely amazing. Wonderful, kind, and thoughtful staff to our 5 young children. Very fun and exciting experience. Definitely something different. This is a must go to restaurant. Traveling from Maryland to Boston. So glad I found this restaurant! Leaves a great taste for Boston!
